OMD, Draft FCB, Flying Fish, Ogilvy, MediaCom, Barnes Catmur & Friends + DDB to perform in Battle of the Ad Bands, tickets available tomorrow
It has been announced that OMD, Draft FCB, Flying Fish, Ogilvy, MediaCom, Barnes Catmur & Friends and DDB will participate in this year’s Battle of The Ad Bands, Thursday September 13 at the Kings Arms Tavern.
There are a few new names, some old names and some ‘notable absences’ – showing that it’s been a tumultuous year in the agency musical world. It seems lead singers, guitarists and drummers have been swapping agencies like they swap groupies backstage.
This year’s theme is Classic Movie songs, and Battle of the Ad Bands’ came up with the following list.

Highway to the Dangerzone (Kenny Loggins) – Top Gun
PEGASUS – DRAFT FCB
Don’t You Forget About Me – (Simple Minds) – Breakfast Club
BURNING SENSATIONS – FLYING FISH

poo. sucks you have to be caanz member.
freelancers are in advertising too you know.
Really would like to have seen someone do “You Could Be Mine”, from Terminator 2.
Don’t ever sing about me again. Ever.
I think OMD really should have covered OMD’s ‘If You Leave’ from Pretty in Pink.
Hope there is a bit of Run DMC in there!
