What’s really so bad about it? The strategy is pretty clear – generate sales by suggesting an alternative way to consume the product. Creative perfectly legit – leverage the client’s AB sponsorship within the draconian confines of their agreement.
Welcome to the real world kids.
Why even publicise this leper of an ad? It doesn’t even make sense. Like most ad agencies, you should learn to hide your blemishes and just showcase the good.
After a nice dinner at a fine dining restaurant, a few cocktails at a small but overly expensive bar nearish to the Viaduct, I like nothing more than to wake up with a thumping hangover and attempt to fix it with nine or ten Weetbix swimming in hot milk.
I never add honey, that’s for people living on The Shore, Pt Chev, or Onehunga.
Failing that I have a nice hot cup of Nescafe, white and one, and head back to bed.
Somehow, I relate to the AB in this commercial. I have no idea whom it is. Was he in last years’ team?

Is Saatchis going through a midlife crisis? Another flashback to the 90s. Awful stuff
I’ve only ever watched this ad on the telly with the sound off. Now that I’ve seen and heard it I’d have to agree with ‘OMG’.
Creative aside… So timely and appropriate to spend the clients money when we are just getting right into the real thick of winter isn’t it.

Wow! Who’d have thought to add hot milk to Weet Bix? True marketing genius, especially as we head into Spring.
Did you guys forget to post this item like 3-5 months ago or S&S and client a bit crazy suggesting hot milk getting into summer?

I’m sure the storyboard worked better.
This ad’s delicious.

Ahhhh. The Reviewer used the word ‘whom’. I’d always assumed by your writing you were an art director.
The RWC is over. You’ve got to let the All Blacks go. Quality control, people of S&S.
You miserable uptight bunch – I’m sure you all make much better FILMS.
