John McCabe and Mel Turkington partner up to launch new consultancy Einstein’s Hairdresser
Awarded creatives John McCabe and Mel Turkington have partnered together to create Einstein’s Hairdresser – an Auckland-based company aimed at creating big ideas that helps brands better connect with their target audiences.
McCabe, a former ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand, and Turkington have experience on big global brands like Coke, Toyota, P&G, Kimberly Clark, Apple and Levis. The duo have worked out of London, New York, Sydney and Auckland and along the way have won a load of awards.
Says McCabe: “Mel and I became instant friends in Sydney about eight years ago. She’s a fearless thinker who is just born to think of ideas bigger than ads. As I recall. We talked enthusiastically about working together some day.”
Turkington says she has no recollection of any of this happening.

Nice to see you back in town John.
And your offices are quite handy to Euro I see…
Yep… He was a real hit at Saatchi’s – he did really well there.
all the best mate.
Thamks for the kind words. Much nicer reception than I’m getting on the Oz blog. Jeez, what is wrong with those people? I wonder if am paying the price for ten year of all black dominance?
Finally some kind words – well done John.
Go Johnny and Mel. Outstanding choice of name, unforgettable.
