The Hollywood actress, most famous for her role in Desperate Housewives, is in New Zealand for the launch week of The Shopping Channel.

Says Longoria: “It’s exciting to be here for The Shopping Channel because I’ve done it in the states with my perfume and it’s really the new vehicle for department store shopping, with it all at your fingertips.

“I’m a fanatic when it comes to home shopping! I love jewelry and I love perfume. I think I’ve bought every kitchen appliance that’s ever been on TV. My kitchen is full of these things.”

Longoria also shared about her experience of creating her new fragrance, which she will be talking more about on her live appearance on The Shopping Channel tomorrow (7.30pm, Thursday 4 October.)

Says Longoria: “The Shopping Channel has become the destination of choice for perfume launches for a lot of people, so it’s really great that I’m going to be able to do that here in New Zealand.”

In introducing Ms Longoria, Alistair Duff (left) CEO of The Shopping Channel, said it was a pleasure to have the star as part of the celebrations for thechannel’s first week of operations.

Says Duff: “Eva embodies everything what The Shopping Channel is all about – style and glamour, with warmth and approachability.”

The gathered crowd of media welcomed Eva with applause and in return, she greeted them with an enthusiastic and well-spoken “Kia ora!”

Questions from media in attendance included everything from her involvement in television shopping and her new fragrance, to tips on fashion and beauty, and her role as co-chair of US President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign committee.
