Special Group’s fully integrated, made-for-radio promotional campaign ‘The Gravity Coffee Run’ for Gravity Coffee Roasters has won the September ORCA.
The Special Group team of Iain MacMillan, Ant Wilson, Rob Jack and Tony Bradbourne (pictured) now go through to the Grande ORCAs, where they’ll be competing for the trip for two to the Cannes Lions. They also get $500, limited edition Martin Horspool certificates and a $5,000 radio schedule for Gravity Coffee. Read more about The Gravity Coffee Run in this month’s Radio Riffing article
The campaign sent young Auckland intern, Kirstie Stanway (left) to the ultimate coffee destination – El Salvador. Stanway arrived for her first day as an intern at More FM Auckland and within her first hour on the job, she was sent to South America.
Judges Cleve Cameron (JWT), Chris Schofield (DDB) and Josh Lancaster & Jamie Hitchcock (Assignment Group) unanimously voted Special Group’s entry as the latest ORCA winner, praising it for being “Fantasic use of Radio – going beyond ads, creating excitement and surprise.” and “A brilliant, pure radio idea.”
