The APG awards celebrate those planners who have contributed to the success of creative ideas that truly propel a brand. Of the 74 case studies put forward for the prestigious awards, 29 have made it to the shortlist stage and a second round of judging, battling it out for the Grand Prix and category prizes.

Sandy Moore, DDB New Zealand Group CEO, is thrilled with the tribute to DDB’s planning team.

Says Moore: “I’d hardly recovered from our Effies success when this fantastic news rolled in. Our planning team is the driving force behind our campaigns’ success and the resulting victory for our clients. It’s great when their tireless work is recognised.”

Says Justin Mowday, DDB MD: “It’s a combination of our planners’ finely-tuned strategic-thinking skills and our clients’ willingness to take a risk with their brand that has us in this enviable position. The APG Awards recognise thorough and rigorous strategic thinking for our clients so we’re pleased to be shortlisted, now let’s hope we bring home some metal on the night!”

The second round of judging on October 29 requires finalists to present their work to the judges, in person, in Sydney. The APG awards follow on October 31.
