Whybin\TBWA takes out News Works April Ad of the Month and lead the Agency League Table
Whybin\TBWA has taken out News Works NZ’s April Newspaper Ad of the Month with their ‘Transparent Newspaper’ ad for Mercury Energy.
This was the first month of the brand new Newspaper Ad of the Month Agency League competition, so Whybin\TBWA also pick up five points, and go straight to the top of the league table.
Judges said it was down to “sheer commitment of the media space and the relevance to the media, with nice little extra touches of running ads within the paper linking back. And they made it funny as well.”
One bonus point was given to Colenso for the Anchor ‘Taste the Difference’ wrap, and to Ogilvy for the Purina Mighty Dog ‘Shiny Coat’ ad.

Judges were Dave Nash, Sugar & Partners; Iain MacMillan, Special Group; and Tom Paine, Y&R.
As well as the points towards the Agency League, the winning creative team will also receive $250 cash and a framed copy of the ad. The ad will also appear in the “What’s New” section of AdMedia. As well as now being a finalist in the 2013/14 $10,000 Newspaper Ad of Year competition, the ad is entered by News Works NZ into the 2014 Axis Awards. Any ad that’s run in any newspaper around the country is eligible to enter the competition. To enter your ad for next month, CLICK HERE.
