Curious Film set to launch its Pop Up Cinema Rum Party in Wellington on Tuesday, June 11

Due to the success of last week’s Auckland Party, Curious Film has announced that it will take its Pop Up Cinema to Wellington with plans to launch another rum fueled event on June 11th, 2013 in commemoration of the passing of Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins.

Last Tuesday night at the Nathan Club in Britomart, Curious produced its Pop Up Cinema to celebrate its release of Hori Smoku, a documentary on the life of world-renowned tattooist Sailor Jerry.

Upon arrival, guests were treated to live tattooing, fortune telling, clipper cuts and copious amounts of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, along with tunes by the Raw Nerves and DJ Johnny Elbow.

Says Peter Grasse, Curious Film: “The night was a great opportunity to celebrate with Curious friends and family the release of a documentary that relishes in the exciting life and times of such a fascinating cultural icon. Wellington is going to be fun!”

Norman Collins built his reputation in the crucible of tattoo arts, Hotel Street, Honolulu. It was a place crowded with sailors, soldiers and roughnecks.
