The Sweet Shop’s Luci Schroder and JWT Melbourne do a ‘Last Dance’ for Quit Victoria

Quit-Vic-thumb-400x224-113616.jpgCan someone else’s tragedy ultimately be a metaphor of hope for others? JWT Melbourne and The Sweet Shop’s director Luci Schroder certainly believes so, as they tackles some extremely challenging subject matter in the latest spot, for Quit.

With ‘Last Dance,’ Schroder delivers a heart felt and powerful portrayal of a terminally ill man losing his battle with cancer. This highly emotional story is told with such tenderness and warmth that it belies the harsh reality of his ultimately fatal decision to smoke.

The exquisitely pared back rendition of Que Sera Sera is the perfect accompaniment to the delightfully intimate scenes of his last dance, and by introducing his young son, the legacy of his decision is made painfully clear.

Luci Schroder.jpgSays Schroder (left): “The key thing for me was to create something beautiful out of something tragic. To take what is essentially a tale of heartache and loss, and turn it into something that’s ultimately a positive message.”
