CAANZ set to launch Axis Speaker Event at Viaduct Events Centre, 10am-4pm, Wed, Mar 5
The CAANZ Axis Speaker Event is a thought provoking and inspirational day bringing together some entertaining keynote global speakers presenting on a brief of “Creative Collaboration” and is set for Wednesday, March 5 at Viaduct Events Centre from 10am – 4pm.

Headlining the event is New Zealand’s national treasure Dave Dobbyn interviewing Geoff Emerick, who collaborated on albums for The Beatles, one of the greatest creative collaborations of our times.

From his early work with Th’ Dudes to No. 1 albums with DD Smash, Dave Dobbyn is considered a national treasure. Well known for catchy singles, five of his songs have been voted onto the thirty best New Zealand songs list.
Geoff Emerick / audio engineer
Joining Abbey Road Studio at 15, Geoff Emerick recorded some of the Beatles most adventurous forays including ‘Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’, ‘The Magical Mystery Tour’ and ‘Abbey Road’. The recipient of 4 Grammys, Geoff has worked with music greats, from Elvis Costello to Art Garfunkel to our very own Split Enz.
Emad Tahtouh /director applied technology, Finch productions
Emad’s work on ‘Pedigree Donation Glasses’ and ‘The Great Crusade’ showed the unique role technology and innovation can play in marketing campaigns. Last year he built ‘The Most Powerful Arm’, a petition-signing robot to raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It won Digital Gold at Spikes Asia and IAB MIXX Awards.
Mark Taylor / freelance
As VP/ECD at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Mark created iconic work for MINI, IKEA, Burger King, American Express, XBOX and the new Windows Phone. In 2012, Creativity magazine listed him in the top ten Creative Directors in the world. He has received Best in Show honours at the industry’s most prestigious awards shows, including Grand Prix at Cannes in four categories.
Duan Evans / ECD, Akqa, London
At AKQA Duan has been responsible for a diverse range of clients including Carlsberg, XBOX, Nissan and Nike. His projects range from global brand activations (Nike ‘The Chance’) to local events powered through social media (Nissan LAF ‘Taxis’). His award wins include Cannes Lions, Design Week Lightbulbs and One Show Pencils.
