Cirkus NZ heads to Cannes Lions to present Cirkus DIY Workshop: Be the Animation Director
Held at the iconic Palais des Festivals from 15 June – 21 June, Cannes Lions 2014 will be 7 days jam-packed with galas, award ceremonies, seminars and workshops, including the “Cirkus DIY Workshop: Be the Animation Director!”
On Monday 16 June at 09:30 to 10:30 and 14:00 to 15:00, Cirkus’ ringmaster, Marko Klijn will take delegates through a workshop tailored for account managers, clients, planners, creative teams or anyone simply looking for new content to create authentic brand stories.
Many think animation is just too complex but Klijn will demonstrate how the animation process is fun and can be cost effectively created in a short time frame. The look, feel, flexibility and universal appeal of animation tick all marketing boxes for agency and client alike. Animation is a fantastic solution for clients who are venturing beyond the classic TVC model and searching for unique IP as a vehicle to activate their brand.
Cirkus will showcase the production processes, the man-hours and the budget required for the creation of a high-end, 3D-animated spot.
During the workshop, delegates will be put into teams and presented with a budget and assets to build their own 3D storyboard. They will discover how much animation can be bought for their creative concept using the supplied characters and environments available. The team that creates the best spot within the given budget wins the much coveted Cirkus “Do It Not The Same” animation trophy.
The Cirkus team will have its Cirkus booth in the Palais. Cirkus encourage Cannes-goers to pop in and meet the team and take advantage of their espresso machine.
