Thieves directors Alex Sutherland + Zoe Mcintosh excel in creating new online short doco films
Thick as Thieves directors Alex Sutherland and Zoe McIntosh have excelled in an innovative new online doco programme called ‘Loading docs’, a new programme of 3 minute films united by the theme of ‘home’.
Both films have recently been selected as Staff Pics on Vimeo and have had more than 100,000 views each and rising.
‘The Jump’ created by Sutherland tells the true story of origins of Bungy Jumping in NZ. Sourced from a goldmine of 80’s one-inch tape, it documents the early inception and development of this unique sport.
Says Jason Sondhi, Vimeo curator and Short of the Week founder: “Great story, great footage. Quite the hoot’ ‘The Jump’ has also just been selected for Short of the week.
‘Living like Kings’ by McIntosh provides a unique insight into the aftermath of the Chrischurch Earthquake and the plight of the homeless and dispossessed, now living a life they never dreamed of.
Says Sondhi: “Great characters, tons of humor. This is a winner.”
