FCB New Zealand leads agency pack at shortlist round of Axis Awards 2015 with 54 finalists
With the preliminary judging completed last week, CAANZ have today released the finalists who will move forward to the next executive round of judging. These finalists are all in contention to put a new Axis trophy in the awards cabinet.
379 entries make up the 2015 finalists from the 75 categories that have so far been judged. FCB lead the way with 54 finalists, followed closely behind by Colenso BBDO with 49 finalists and DDB with 47 finalists. Special Group has 31 finalists with Saatchi & Saatchi rounding out the top five with 26 finalist entries.
In the Craft Category, The Sweet Shop tops the tally for production companies with 19 finalists followed by Finch recording 10 finalists.
Says Paul Head, CEO, CAANZ: “We congratulate everyone who made it on to this year’s finalist list and look forward to seeing the cream that rises to the top.”
Tickets are now on sale for the Award show gala dinner which will be held at Sky City Convention Centre on Thursday 12th March, 6:30pm start.

One client nearly beat all agencies in terms of finalist – a quick count had Lion at 51 finalist (give or take some). Pretty impressive stuff from those guys. No wonder everyone wants to work on those briefs

There’s one heck of a lot of categories. It’s going to be a long night.
As such, I’ll be ordering the beef. The chicken won’t have the filling power to see me through the night. I’ll also stay away from the wine and stick to beer. I really hope that dessert this year will be some Cadbury Roses that are loosely thrown onto my table.
Saying that, because of the length of the event I’ll probably spend most of the night at the outside bar where I’ll take up smoking for the evening and try to score some pot.
Hmmm old Sky City aye….no real good outdoor area for us smokers.
Will be an interesting one.
Pre-shortlist, I was thinking it would probably be a DDB – Colenso – FCB 1-2-3.
With those agencies actually be in the reverse order at this stage, it is going to be a fairly close run thing!
