Spikes Asia: NZ agencies score awards in PR, Film, Direct, Print, Radio, Creative Effectiveness
New Zealand has performed well at the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, scoring Gold, Silver and Bronze Spikes across most categories at last night’s ceremony in Singapore.
PR
New Zealand took out both Gold Spikes awarded in the category, one going to DDB Group New Zealand for Paw Justice ‘Don’t trade me’, the other to Y&R New Zealand for Brake ‘Living Memories’. Y&R also scored a Silver Spike for Land Rover ‘Love from Land Rover’. DDB Group New Zealand also scored two Bronze Spikes for Paw Justice ‘Don’t trade me’.
FILM
DDB New Zealand won a Silver Spike for Sky ‘Murmuration’ as did Clemenger BBDO Wellington for NZTA ‘Tinnyvision’. DDB Group New Zealand also won a Bronze Spike for Powerball ‘Pop’s Gift’.
FILM CRAFT
The Sweet Shop won a Silver Spike for Sky ‘Murmuration’ as did Blockhead, Auckland / DDB Group New Zealand for the same commercial.
DIRECT
Colenso BBDO, Auckland won two of the six Gold Spikes awarded in the category, one for Bank of New Zealand ‘$hred’, the other for VW ‘Reduce Speed Dial’. The agency also scored a Silver Spike for NZ Breast Cancer Foundation ‘Breast Cream’.

DDB Group New Zealand won a Silver Spike for Speight’s Breweries ‘Good on ya dad’.

Colenso BBDO, Auckland won Silver Spikes for the Pedigree campaign as well as the New Zealand Book Council campaign.
CREATIVE EFFECTIVENESS
Colenso BBDO, Auckland was awarded one of only four Creative Effectiveness Spikes, won for Burger King ‘Motel Burger King’.
