LBB & Friends are back on the beach for Cannes 2016 – and LBB members from OZ/NZ are invited
London-based Aussie expat Katherine Peach reminds Australasian member agencies and production companies why the LBB & Friends Beach should be your home-from-home in Cannes
Every year LBB hosts one of the most fun, relaxed, and productive events at the Cannes Lions – the LBB & Friends Beach.
For some of you the beach was your first introduction to the world of Little Black Book, and for many, it has become your annual home and sanctuary for the week.
What you may not know about the event, if you haven’t been, is that it really is the physical embodiment of LBBonline. A real community, getting together to share ideas and forge new partnerships.
This is our seventh year, andeach time it has been bigger and better, with an amazing line-up of co-hostswho make it a diverse and interactive experience for everyone. There is a dailyfree happy hour, as well as massages, musical guests, and goodie bags stuffedwith treats from all of your hosts. But mostly it is a lovely space in which tounwind, take a meeting, or just enjoy the sun on a lounger.

The Jungle Group are co-hosting again, bringing some physical and digital recharging with the very popular Hanging Gardens.

We are also welcoming back Rushes, who are hosting their exclusive annual event on Wednesday evening, as well as our good friends from Vrse.works, Chesterfield brokers, The Good Film Co, London International Awards, and The Studio NY, who are all returning to co-host with us. These are our confirmed co-hosts for 2016:
We are inherently inclusive, not exclusive. We invite everyone, local or global, from all parts of this wonderful industry; just as we do on our site. But due to the overwhelming populari
ty of the beach last year (we had around 800 visitors EACH DAY), with people queuing all day, everyday for wristbands, we’ve had to make the beach available only to those with LBB memberships and the invited guests of our co-hosts. So those with company pages, keep an eye out for an email invitation in the weeks ahead.
We will also be hosting our special LBB dinners for our friends in Production and Global Comms, as a way to say thanks for working with us and supporting us on our journey, so keep an eye out for your invitation (and add us to your safe list!).
As always, it will be fantasticto catch up with industry friends from across the world, and if you’re stillwondering about how to have a presence at Cannes (without breaking the bank),we are holding a couple of spots open for new co-hosts. It’s a hassle-free wayto host a week-long event that will enable you to make all the connections, take the important meetings, and not worry about the logistics.
We really look forward to seeingyou all out there this year. You can’t miss us – we’re opposite the Miramar andyou’ll see our (friendly) heavies on the door.
