Two Media Design School teams awarded for innovation at 2016 AdStars in South Korea
Only three awards were handed out for innovation in the non-professional category at AdStars this year, and AdSchool teams Joshua Foley and Brooke Wiley, together with Cain Duff and Aiken Hutcheson won two of those awards.
Inspired by their own experiences in the aftermath of the
Christchurch earthquake, Wiley and Foley’s idea, Coke Under Rubble, is an initiative to increase Coke’s already significant disaster relief efforts by harnessing its vast machine network to help recover trapped bodies in the aftermath of a disaster.
Duff and Hutcheson’s idea, Colgate Double Check, makes saving lives as simple as brushing your teeth, by addressing the fact that although diabetes is now the 8th biggest killer in the world, it’s a killer that’s often not detected until it’s far too late.
Says Kate Humphries, CD, AdSchool: “The non-professional category received 4,000 entries this year, so we’re more than pleased that our students scored two out of the final three awards for in the innovation category.”

Amazing ideas, I like how they’re both very practical.
A unique approach to some very big issues. Fresh thinking.
Nice
They feel more realistic than idealistic. No self-indulgent drivel.
Realistic, not idealistic
Would love to see these ideas being implemented in the near future
