Oceania Healthcare brightens up man’s life with the power of music in a TVC via Rainger & Rolfe
Oceania Healthcare has launched its new TVC ‘I Love Music’ via Rainger & Rolfe. The TVC is the second in a series that reinforces Oceania’s core positioning around ‘care’, summarised in the endframe strapline “Kindness Care Respect”.
The first TVC has been running for approximately 18 months and this new TVC has launched this week. If there is a common thread, both TVCs feature a story around an Oceania caregiver who uses her initiative to solve a problem.
Says Jill Birch, general manager sales, marketing and villages, Oceania Healthcare: “Everyone knows how powerful great music can be but when it evokes special memories from the past, everything just goes to the next level.
“A few years ago we started to develop personalised playlists for our residents and we quickly saw immediate benefits – especially amongst dementia patients. But what we hadn’t fully realised was the excellent response from all our other residents.
“As a result, our programme has continued to grow in popularity and then the other day we talked about how a television expression might be a good idea. Which is ultimately what this new TVC is all about.
“What’s interesting is that both commercials are based around true stories of our people thinking about how else they can do more for our residents and how they can improve the Oceania experience. We think it’s a good message and one we are hearing is being really well received.”

Why would you want to be credited publicly? It’s an average spot.
Great stuff – though if I’m being completely honest, the remix is on a whole other level.
And the name of the talent…… ? The old man looks a bit like David Weatherly ?
Hi Peter Michel-
I believe the elderly gentleman in the Oceania Healthcard advertisement is Bas Tubert- he used to be a radio announcer (one of the best) on the Wellington Radio Station 2ZB.
Hi everyone, I believe you’ll find the The man in the Oceania ad is David Weatherly, face looks wrong shape for Bas Tubert
