Special New Zealand leads the Kiwi pack at shortlist stage of The One Show 2023
The One Show has announced the shortlist for 2023 with Special leading the Kiwi agency pack with 11 across five campaigns.
Following Special is Dentsu Creative ANZ with six, followed by Colenso BBDO with five, FCB with three, Saatchi & Saatchi with two and Stanley St and EightyOne with one shortlist apiece.
Seven of Special’s eleven shortlisted were for Partners Life ‘Last Performance,’ (where TV characters were brought back from the dead to sell life insurance), hot off the back of its AXIS Best in Show and Spikes Entertainment Grand Prix. Special’s shortlist hit across Film, Branded Entertainment, Health and Wellness, Direct and Moving Image Craft.
Special’s other shortlisted entries were for Wellington City Mission ‘The Silent Night’, Kathmandu ‘Summer Never Sleeps’, Hell Pizza ‘Tomeato Sauce’ and Education New Zealand ‘Te Kākahu Hou’.
Dentsu Creative ANZ has been shortlisted six times, two times for TVNZ ‘It’s Free. But it Could Cost You.’, two times for TVNZ ‘Wooing Jeff’ and two times for TVNZ ‘Wrong Ride’.
Colenso BBDO has picked up three shortlisted entries for Skinny ‘Phone It In’, the agency was also shortlisted once for State ‘Tally My Post’ and Spark ‘Beyond Binary Code’.
FCB New Zealand has been shortlisted three times, twice for Waka Kotahi ‘Speed’ and once for New Zealand Police ‘Survive the Drive’.
Scoring two shortlisted entries is Saatchi & Saatchi for Toyota ‘Let’s Go Places: Choice Bombs’ and ‘Let’s Go Places: Princess Bride’.
Stanley St was shortlisted once for Waitapu Group in partnership with St John ‘The Hello Project’ and EightyOne was shortlisted once for Powershop ‘It’s a Powershop’.
Finalists will be announced on April 24, and the awards will be revealed during Creative Week, May 15-19, 2023.
